Hi! Iām Erin. I am passionate about using media to tell stories and create connection.
As Communications Coordinator for Kent ISD, I am privileged to share the stories of students and educators in the West Michigan community. I create content for and manage the social media accounts, manage internal email campaigns and external community email newsletters, and produce compelling video content.
Previously, I managed the social media accounts for Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, one of the top 30 most visited museums in the United States. I created engaging visual content to promote Meijer Gardens to their online audience of more than 193,000 followers. My work for Meijer Gardens was recognized by the West Michigan chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. I was a PRoof Award Winner in 2019 (Silver Award for Content Marketing Campaign), 2018 (Gold Award for Crisis Communication and Honorable Mention for Social Media Campaign), and 2017 (Silver Award for Video Series).
I came to Meijer Gardens after working as a News Producer for WZZM13, a market 39 station. I started as a part-time camera operator, and worked my way up in a few short years to lead a team of anchors, reporters, and production staff for the 11:00 p.m. news program. I also wrote stories for the WZZM13 website as well as shot and edited video for broadcast. There, I honed my skills to work efficiently and accurately in a high pressure environment with tight deadlines.
